Shuron has been an optical manufacturer since 1865. What is amazing is that many of the frames that they made
60 or 70 years ago they still make. Wow! Talk about classics. This makes them the king of the retro look. These
are the frames your grandparents wore--and we know some people get them in pawn shops, yard sales, and flea
markets. Of course when you buy them off the street it may be something that's going to fall apart tomorrow.
The new ones come with a one year guarantee. Their website at www.shuron.com shows all the styles, colors
and sizes. "Hey, grandpa, you ought to put up a website." " A Web what?" And remember in all those old frame
styles you actually have a choice in eye sizes, bridge (nose) sizes, and in temple length. On many you can even
choose temple type (cable--flexible wire around ear [as pictured on frame below to left] or skull temple--the typical
stiff temple that hugs the head but is not as tight [as pictured on frames to right below]). Most modern day frames
do not have these options.
